Maimuna

Maimuna is a well-known Belarusian violinist.

She was born into a family of scientists. Maimuna's parents are research chemists. Her mother is a native Belarusian and her father is from Mali (Northern Africa). There is Belarusian, African, Spanish and Ukrainian blood in Maimuna's veins.
The violinist is married with two children. Her daughter Diana is 5 years old, and her son Philipp is 1 year old.

Maimuna's grand-mother brought the girl to the Music school, after finishing school Maimuna pursued her studies at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
In 1999 Maimuna became a scholarship holder of the special President's Fund for Supporting Talented Young People. Studying at the Academy of Music she was a leading violin of the string section of the symphony orchestra "Young Belarus". From 2003 to 2009 the young violinist was a concertmeister of a well-known Presidential Orchestra.

Maimuna's concert history is very rich: she visited Lithuania, France, Germany, island Réunion (Mascarene Islands) with the symphony orchestra "Young Belarus"; Moldova, Iran and Russia with the Presidential Orchestra; in Slovenia, Russia and Germany Maimuna performed as a soloist.

Maimana has released two albums, "Queen of Africa" (2011) and "Showtime" (2014), and a video "Queen of Africa"

Maimuna has several duet compositions recorded together with Pavel Nevmerzhitski, a well-known bayan-player ('Csardas' by Monti, 'Libertango' by Astor Piazzolla).

Maimuna loves all kinds of creative experiments. She has recorded not very typical compositions for violin: medley for 'Syabry' songs, Medley by Michael Jackson, Psy – Gangnam Style, Humoresque (the author is Kirill Kristya, a contemporary Belarusian composer).

Another musical experiment is exactly the duet with Uzari. Maimuna herself suggested performing together. The song 'Time' has turned to be successful: the musicians won the national Final and are going to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

Uzari

Uzari(Yuri Navrotski) is a well-known Belarusian artist, composer, arranger and singer. He was born in Minsk into a family of musicians. Uzari is of Belarusian, Polish and Spanish heritage.

The musician performs his own songs.

Uzari studied at the National Music College, specializing in choral conducting. In 2013 he graduated from Saint- Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, department of popular and jazz vocal.

Uzari was a backing vocalist performing with Anastasia Vinnikova who represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

The musician is the award winner of the ONT TV-channel project "Song of the Year Belarus" in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

This is for the third time that Uzari competes to represent Belarus at the Eurovision. He was among the finalists of Belarus Selections in 2012 with his composition 'The Winner', and in 2013 with his song 'Secret'.

In 2014 Uzari recorded a duet composition 'Time' with the violinist Maimuna, and the song won the National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The author of the music is Uzari.
